I have the two lock set also, you put one lock on one side of each device - one for the backrest, one for the luggage rack. I've used them on a regular basis for over 10 years with no problems whatsoever.

I have the two lock set also, as stated before if somebody really wants your tour pack, the lock is not going to stop them. It does give you a little piece of mind though, I usually take my pack off at night and put it in the hotel room if I'm on a long trip.

I have these and they work good...as they say a lock only keeps honest people honest...if they want it they will get it but with them it makes the next guy the better target.

At night if I am in a place that I feel warrants additional security I just run my long cable lock up thru the mount..but again it's only going to slow them down if they really want to take it or the whole bike....so I keep good insurance and don't leave anything that is not replaceable on or in the bike.

My lock from harley broke in two weeks, Now I just use a trigger cable lock that comes on new guns when you buy them. If someone wants it they will take it but it might give them pause.

Same gripes here for the HD lock, the key is too long so I had to bend it and then the lock fell apart after one summer. Piece of junk if you ask me.

Yep, those are the ones I've been using....Smaller and cheaper then the HD ones that break easily.

Here's my *FREE* fix...
Go to your local police dept and tell them you want a firearm safety lock, then just use it to secure your tour-pac.
It's supposed to be cut resistant and its rubber coated so it shouldn't scratch your chrome.

I've been using the firearm lock too. Like you said, it's supposed to be cut resistant. You'd have to really want what was in my pack, or my pack itself really bad to spend enough time to get that sucker off of there. I do take mine off when riding though.
