I only use it and fairing bra for very long ride but I use some 3m tape to protect the paint where it tends to rub.

Default Go Bra Less!

I was bothered by the scuffing on my tank too. What I did was to rub it out with Meguiars Polish (not rubbing compound) then I started using an acylic polish that I bought at the dealers. Works like a charm, no scuffing and the paint color looks deeper too. Here's a link for Crystal Glo, you can buy it direct from the factory and save money.

I had the lower portion of my tank covered with 3m VentureShield clear film from where the tank bolts down forward about 8 - 10 inches. The seat will take a long time to where through it and there is enough of it forward of seat nose to protect against scratches from coat zippers.

I had my upper and lower fairings covered as well and I am going back to get the front fender partially cover in a few weeks.

i use mine mostly on road trips, you have to remove it clean out the dirt and grit that gets under it and wax the tank before you put it back; on a regular basis. you can not put it on and forget about it. the dirt and grit is what screws up the paint.

So let me get this straight: you need to protect your tank form the bra that protects the tank?
