Bub7 - General Quality

I have had Bub 7 TDs on my '08 for over 20k miles with no chrome pealing or any other problem. They seem to be very high quality and the sound is sweet but a little on the high side.
I had HD Touring slip-ons with caps on my RK and the chrome pealed on the bottom where the cap meets the muffler. The caps on the low side / left side were replaced 3 times under warranty. On the third time the wrench asked me if I was using S 100 Cycle Cleaner. I was and quit using it and never had another problem.
The problems occurred on the low side cap where even after drying the bike the moisture containing S 100 residue would collect and drip. That stuff is harsh and corrosive. If you use it you know that it will leave white spots unless it is rinsed very well. It you have stock zinc hardware it will corrode it as well. To me there is nothing better than good old fashion car wash, containing a mild soap and a water softener, that you can buy by the gallon at Sam's.

OUTSIDE of the tips where they meet the mufflers
on the pipes themselves where the tips connect

I do not use S100. I tried a bottle of that stuff a few years ago and realized how bad it was, and threw it in the trash. I use regular car wash soap. Can't speak for anyone else, but in my case it was just a poor chrome job. I have enough experience from chroming parts over the years to know good chrome from bad. Like I said in one of the previous posts, it looks to me like they had a bad batch of chrome somewhere along the line.
