As you can see...many ways to accomodate large feet w/touring shifter. Can do anything from remove all together, adjust, or buy extended shifter(s). Now...go back & get the bike...

The first thing I took off was the heel shifter. I moved the toe shifter to the outer splines and made a spacer to make up the difference. Better all the way around.

I also wear a size 13 and wear steel toe boots always. You just have to adjust the toe shifter up a little to give you room. I don't use the heel shifter except to find neutral. It doesn't get in my way since I usually ride with my heels on the floorboards and my toes on the highway pegs. Enjoy that new RK!

I used the heck out of my heel shifter... but it turns out I was stomping too hard on it and broke the shifter, in the tranny... I have since raised the toe shifter and stopped using the heel.

I love my heel shifter, & don`t think I could ever go back to doing with out it. Several of my friends removed theirs, but it just feels natural to me to use it.

Do you guys who ride floorboards get use to the heel shift? Maybe even prefer it? I found it akward??!!

You do not have to heel shift. I dont I toe shift my SG.

One of the 1st things I did on my RKC is to take off the heel shifter.. Bought a Kury spacer and pushed out the toe shifter.. Looks nice, no ugly spline, and is more confortable.. Works well with floor board extentions.

Heel shifting just feels Harley. I love it and use the toe to downshift only and of course finding first gear
