Mine uses a 22MM socket just fine. It's just a cheapie scissor jack from Scamazon. The instructions say not to use power tools to raise it anyway so the slightly loose fit just helps me put the socket on.

I was under the impression that the center stand being discussed by the OP was as pictured below.

One could probably get away with a non-impact wrench or drill, but given the stakes involved I don't tempt fate. Takes less than a minute with a hand ratchet anyway, and better descent control.
