Pegs instead of floorboards on a touring bike?
Here at work with not enough to do and I was doing a little internet shopping and was wondering. Can you replace the floorboards on a streetglide with pegs instead? Not sure I want to do it but was curious if it would work. I would like to remove my engine guard and still wanted highway pegs. That led me to the Rivco website where they make a set of frame mounted clamps to mount highway pegs to. That got me to exploring the idea of replacing the boards with pegs as well. For some reason I have never felt totally comfortable with boards as much as pegs on my other bikes. Maybe it is having your heel firmly planted on a peg but thought I would see if anyone had tried it.

I’ve only owned bikes with floorboards. I think if I had a bike without them it would feel weird to me. I would never consider removing the floorboards from a touring bike (hence the name touring) you want comfort don’t you? Of course I also have pegs so it allows me to try several positions.

Here are a couple of sites the have foward controls for touring bikes. I was going to put the Jaybrake on my Street Glide, thinking of doing it to the RG.
