Skid plate under saddle bags

Skid plate under saddle bags
I layed my SG over and scratched the bag. I'm going to have it painted, but I want to protect them from another lay over. I know, "Don't lay it over", but back to my question. I like the clean look of the SG, so I'm looking for something less obvious than Saddle Bag Guards. I notice that the SVO SG extended bags have skid plates, how well do they work? Has anyone tried skid plates and tested them on normal bags?

you could make your own with some stainless and bolt them thru the bag or 3m vhb 2 way tape em on.

I dont know how well they work, but You can get some crash bars in the back and paint them or chrome them in an un obvious way. I saw a totaly blacked out SG with some at the Laughlin show and I thought they were classy.
Sorry about laying down your bike....How fast were you going.

I went with Milwalkee Baggers. They are stainless steel. Here is a link. Nick rounded the edge with his design so it protects the corner and the bottom of the bag.

Can't be any worse than scraping the floor boards on a hard turn leaned over. And if your dipping that bad you ain't gonna worry about getting the wheel off the ground as I would think there sa problem and one solution.......... THe brackets that hold your bags on I would guess would flex first . Potato-potato...... There ya go!
