My 2008 Ultra had this problem in November. The bike had 26,000 miles and was out of warranty by about 5 months. My local dealer fixed it at no cost. They told me it was a known problem and the Moco would cover the cost.

I just bought a 2008 anniversary ultra last August. It now has 9 k on it . it runs great but I am wondering if this was checked out. I don't know if my selling dealer will give me some flack if I ask about it or not. Also is this the type of problem that will leave you stranded on the side of the road? I have a major trip planned and would like to have this checked out. thanks Jeff

Yes it can leave you stranded. The bike idles, but the throttle does not do anything, so essentially you will not be going anywhere. You could try to unplug the connector and re-connect or unplug the connector and try bending the pins a little and plug back in.

Dialectic grease is included in the fix in the Service Bulletin I posted in #10.

Good to know since I have just about 9000 now, so far no problems. Is this something I can do easily myself. If so I may get whats needed and do it in the shop rather than getting stranded.

I think it is a fairly easy fix. The tech did it in about 15 min. Remove the pins from the Plug(connector), snip wires, put new pins on, and put pins back into connector.
