Besides being Mother's Day today, Saturday was my son's 4th Birthday and as exciting as it was for me to have him, I felt bad for him. His Mom usually takes him on the weekends (I have him Mon-Fri) but we talked earlier in the week and she said it was better for her if I kept him all weekend, and she didn't even call to say Happy Birthday. But he went bowling, got Olive Garden for lunch and spoiled rotten with gifts from my sister, brother, parents, grandparents and myself.
Today went with my son to ride with my Dad while he was field cultivating for a little while then I spent the afternoon washing and waxing my Mom's and my bikes. I decided I hate washing bikes but the end result is awesome. Also realized, the chrome on my exhaust is flaking off and developing rust spots, I'd like to chrome the rear end of my RK to run it without bags but probably won't, and cleaning my Mom's Sporty (my old one) is a lot faster and easier than the RK to clean and wax.
All in all it was a good weekend, and nice having my son on the weekend without all the hustle and bustle of school, work, and baby sitters. And, I only get every 3rd weekend off and I just got transferred and my weekend rotation changed so it was meant to be to have him this weekend. Even with the nicest day of spring so far and only riding across town and spending all day cleaning bikes instead of riding, I wouldn't change this weekend for anything.
