Just got my 2011 Rootbeer Limited Ultra for $24000.00 with a $250 gift card out the door. No trade in.
I purchased it at Wildfire HD in Villa Park, IL and they have a fly and ride program.

Talk to Jim Plotke and tell him Ed sent you.

I didn't get a chance to read through the entire thread yet, but my local dealer doesn't take anything off the MSRP, instead he works on the trade-in value of your current bike. Their first offer for our trade in was over the Kelly Blue Book RETAIL value. When we tried to negotiate the price of the new bike down some more, they said they would prefer to give us more on the trade. The end result was the same as if they took about $1,000 off MSRP. I know that doesn't help you since you have no trade and want to fly in to pick it up.

When I was comparison shopping, these guys were very helpful: http://www.benbreecehd.com/

They charge no prep/setup/freight fees, and when I called they offered $1,000 under MSRP on any touring bike in stock, and that was over the phone. Very nice people to deal with. They might be able to help.

I purchased my 2010 Ultra Classic in November. The 2011s were out so an additional $2500 rebate was being offered on the 2010 touring models. I paid $17,900 for mine with ABS, Security Premium Wheel package and a 5 year extended warranty included in the price. I also got a $500.00 check upon completion of a Rider's course. A rain Jacket some Carbon Fiber knuckle gloves a few tshirts and some bandanas were also included.

And The Prize goes to..........Had I known in December the bug would strike, then I'm not known as the shrewdest business guy in the world. I also don't remember seeing the Sedona Orange that made it irresistible to walk away. What's done....at least I didn't get roped into shyster-ship charging 2k over. Harley dealers are no better than car dealers getting a premium for the popular models.

A lot depends on the model as well. I was able to get almost 1k off MSRP in July of 09 on my SG. I did not pay an freight or set up either. I thought that was pretty good at the time. I had to travel 300 miles to get it. I internet shopped and went with the best offer. I went to Montana and what a hell of a ride home. I was picking bugs out of my teeth for a week after riding all the way home with a smile on my face. Flying out and riding home is half the fun.

I just got a text message from Route 66. They have a "very rare" new Screamin Eagle Ultra in Twilight Blue. Just thought I'd let you know…
