I want to say thanks again to JC and everyone else on this thread. Last night got home pulled the header and cut the kitty out with my port-a-band and a Dremel cut off wheel. Welded it up on my lunch break at work today and she sounds great! Runs great and I didn't feel any heat on my right leg. It was freezing just like the left! Thanks again for all the tips.

I just finish removing the cats and it took me about 45 Min. It was extremely easy to do and had no issues. The posted pictures really helped me do the job. I obtain a header pipe from a friend so I did not have to remove my header pipe. Looking forward to getting it on the bike and taking it out for a test ride.

How did you remove "The Cat" not "Cats", without removing the Header Pipe?
What year and model Bike do you have?

Pipe was over heated and warped
Well I did the trap door method and started putting it back on and got almost finished and the right side muffler would not go on because it hit the trailing arm. I saw that the crossover was off a little but did not think anything of it. Now I see with a straight edge that the pipe out the back is bent towards the bike by about 1/4" and that is enough to push the muffler into the bike. I am taking it back to the Tig welder guy and see if he can either heat it and bend it or cut it and bend it back in alignment. If that does not work I will either get an after market pipe or buy another factory pipe and start again.
