I too have the clunk model. I have the standard height mono tubes installed. They have about 5000 miles on them and they started clunking about 1000 ago. I just wrote Progressive and will wait for them to reply.

Seems like they need to conduct a major recall if they want to really stand behind their products. How can you sell something so critical, such as a suspension for a motorcycle without checking to make sure it works properly?

Its' troubling to find this tread. I had the Monotubes installed last month. I have an no problems to date, but I'm wondering if this issue will creep up at some point. Mine were ordered from Progressive at the time of the install, so maybe I have the "corrected" version. It would be nice to know if I need to worry or not. I love the feel of these shocks though. The front end handling is WAY better than stock.

This thread makes me feel pretty good about going with the Ricor/racetech option.

Installed mine last Nov and they have been much better than stock, until about a month ago. They still don'y dive but the bumps are getting a little rough feeling like there is no recoil anymore, just slam. Thinking about trying to compress the front down as far as I can with a wheel chock and straps to see if there is any rebound at all anymore. Might be time for something new??

Curious if anyone has had issues with the American Suspension bagger legs and the Progressive monotubes....

Great......was considering progressive mono tubes, now what?

I had Ricors on my 07 FLSTF, way to firm, but stopped the front end dive. Do not want to go with them again.

My latest update on my Monotube experience:
I called Progressive on the phone (it took a while to get them to answer), but I finally got them to give me a return authorization number. Before they will exchange them, you’re required to have the receipt, their authorization number and it can’t have been more than one year from the time of purchase.
I received the new Monotubes about 10 days later and installed them. This time, I only used one of the plastic preload clips on each spring instead of the supplied two ( got this info from a Progressive Technician). Doing, so seemed to soften the ride just a little and it seems to let the front of the bike set lower and that seems to help with the way the bike turns into corners.
So far, I’m very happy with the way they perform and hope the newer versions last. If these don’t work out I will try the ones that Harley sells next time.
