Default 06 road king

Was in the dealer this morning and saw a 2006 Road King with 34Kish miles. Was just traded in on an Ultra Classic and is in great shape, very clean, not one scratch or blemish. Guy who traded it looked to be an older gentelman (just saw as he rode off on new bike)

Anyways, like I said, it was immaculant condition and has not been thru the shop yet, talked to Mgr. and was able to get a quote of $12,500 WITH the HYD cam Tensioner upgrade done......Is this a good deal? Also its a peace officer edition (I dont know what that means)

I'm wasnt in the market for another bike till next year but this bike really caught my eye and I love the styling of a road king....

Challenger,

I just paid 13k for an 06 RK Custom with a stage 1. perfect condition and 25k miles... I would say thats a fair price...

If you like the bike... then it is a fair price

Motorcycle Consumer News retail price guide - March 2011 - 2006 Harley Davidson

Road King - carb - $11,800 injection - $12,060

RK Classic - injection - $12,945

RK Custom - injection - $12,035

BTW - had an injector recall for bikes made before mid Feb, 2006 - cold start rough
idle. Most folks that had it done got WORSE mileage afterward and wish they'd not
done it.
If the dealer has not done the tensioner upgrade yet, I'd pay for SE204 cams and
an ECM download - labor is free. IMHO. Make sure they check the wheel bearings.
Good luck.

In Chicago those bikes are all over Craigs list for 9500-11000, so I don't think its a screaming deal, but do what makes you happy.
