Everybody said the oil filter on these touring bikes was a pain in the ***
So I planned my attack carefully. Knew what I was doing ahead of time. Tools carefully laid out. Drain funnel and pan precisely situated.
And I still wound up having to stick a screwdriver through the oil filter to get it off. All in all, the entire job was 20 minutes to do everything else, and nearly an hour before I gave up and just hammered a screwdriver through the filter.
I guess I'll just give up and buy the Harley tool for next time.
