Agreed, I'll use the K&N air filter but its the Harley oil filter for me.

Amsoil filter is just a smidgen smaller then a Harley filter so you need an Amsoil wrench. I have both and a strap wrench, but I have had to use a screwdriver to remove a filter after the dealer installed one......on some friends bikes.
I've never been able to easily remove a filter that a dealer has put on.....any dealer. Why is that? Do they teach their mechanics to do another complete turn after it seats instead of the quarter turn?

I have never had a problem getting the filter off. Now that I have an oil cooler, removing the filter may be a different story.

Take your oil filter with you go to autozone or another parts store and get one from them.

Use the strap wrench on a long extention. Takes all of a few seconds to get off.

Yeah but they are worth it. Face it, K&N makes better filters and the fact that they thought enough to make it easy to take off puts them way ahead of HD all day long. I think somebody mentioned the Rivco (whatever). Cool tool unless you have a chrome alternator cover which in turn makes it a nice paperweight. Been there done that....
