Here is the pic from the HD Parts catalog, is this pic not what it looks like installed?

Anyone have a pic of theirs?
Here's are really low quality pic from my cell phone, but you can see there's a big gap between the top of my Sundowner and the backrest. It all depends upon which style HD seat you have. I personally really hate how this looks on my bike.

Get the adjustible mounting bracket. I have the custom back rest and it adjusts to 3 different heights, that and the ability to move front to back can give you many different positions over a long day.

As for taking up passenger room, for my wife not really, shes only 120 lbs, so she slips right in.
On solo trips, I put the T-bag in her seat and tour pack the backrest fro the day rides out of the hotel.

Good luck with your decision, Ride On.......

I have been considering the Corbin Dual Tour. Is the backrest adjustable? What would you have to have for it? I have a RG seat, a Rallyrunner seat, and a Sundowner. I would like to find a seat that looked good, was comfortable, and that sat you back a little like the Rallyrunner. That is asking alot from one seat though. What is it that is uncomfortable about it? Sorry for all the questions.

The corbin backrest is adjustable, but you cant adjust it on the fly. It has a set screw that needs loosened to adjust. The seat is very firm, I knew that going in from my research before I bought it, a lot of people love these seats, I just cant get used to it, just to hard for my tastes. I don't have a lot of natural padding back there.

I bought the seat used for $139, and bought a new backrest for $220. When I sell it I would like to get back what I have in it. If you are interested send me a PM.

Get the adjustable. You'll wish you had it on a long day of riding. It's nice to be able to make adjustments while riding. It does restrict the passenger room. I can't use mine when I ride with my wife but it's fine with smaller passengers.

3. Do the limit passenger room like the Corbin one does?
The HD non-adjustable one is adjustable buy choosing different bolt holes in the mounting bracket. For me it pushed me too far forward even adjusted all the way back. Others fixed the problem by heating it in a vise and bending. I cut the support off and installed it backwards and it work great. Go figure.

I'm very glad IO spent the extra $$$ and got the adjustable one. I adjust on the fly all the time. It's sweet.
