I ride in the rain and don't let it stop me from getting on the bike. Had one trip with my brother where it rained every day we rode, when we stopped for a day or two rain stopped, when we started to ride it started to rain. One of the many memorable trips we have had together... rain shouldn't stop a good time.
My time at home is so limited that I ride no matter what, I have all the gear I need to be semi-comfortaable, I look at it like and adventure. I dont want it to rain when I am home, but if it does, so be it. I'm ready.
Never plan to ride in the rain or snow but every time on the way to Sturgis bike week always get caught in it never change any destination or departures.Got caught in snow in 2009 in Bryce Canyon but still made to the destination.Hail is the worse enemy without face shield learned that hard way.
If I'm on a trip or on the road going somewhere, yeah I'll finish my ride
to my destination.
Will I leave home during a rain storm just to ride ??? Nah, no need too
as I have an ATV to play in the rain and mud !!!!
in the Pacific northwest if you dont ride in the rain, you might not get very many miles on you scooter. If its raining, i usually just dont go riding ..just to ride. If i get caught in some its ...oh well.
Not afraid of it, but I don't go looking for it either. I'll go out for a joy ride if its raining a bit or there is rain in the forecast, but if its already raining and I am heading out to work...I'll take the car. If I get caught out when its raining, so be it!
A light rain will put most drivers in a panic here in Southern California. Water makes some people forget how to drive. In the San Fernando Valley the potholes are vicious and I avoid them. When they are full of water and I can't see them, I know it is time to stop riding.
