My bike is a 2009 Ultra Classic and twice this week I've turned the ignition switch to start and all the electrical items come on - I push Off to Run and the fuel pump kicks in and primes - when the light goes out - I hit the start button and NOTHING. After a few nice encouraging words and turning the ignition switch off and on a few times it finally starts. So far this problem has happened close to home but I'd like to nip it in the bud before we travel or head out for an evening. All the other times it starts first thing. Any light on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
I had one of the connector plugs in the head light that connected the kill switch to the ignition that wasn't quite made all the way. Had to use a pair of channel locks to get it to click.
Mine was the relay to the starter, I would hear it click, but no starter. so I hit it with a screw driver while holding the start button. That confirmed the relay was bad. I replaced the relay, and added a starter button.
