Default Cures for the shiny black screw?

Installed some new grips last night. After I was done I noticed that the black screws in the controls have some bare metal showing through from the torx socket. How does the factory prevent this and what can a guy do to stain the things back to the sortof, kinda black look that came from the factory?

When I was in the Marines we had some emblem paint that we used to fix our rank insignia and emblems on our uniform when then paint was chipped or worn. I cant for the life of me remember what is was called but is was black paint with a little bush that could be used for fine detail work....

Just a thought, maybe someone on here remembers what is was called..??

I am not familiar with the shade of black used by HD, but what about BLACK NAIL POLISH ? comes in a few shades of black, regular black, glittery black, pearl black, ect, and has a handy SMALL brush too. . . . and only about 3 bucks a bottle.
