Default detachable Tour Pak causes seat to Vibrate, help

I bought a new 2011 electric Glide Classic so my wife would be comfortable. I had a detachable bracket installed and now my seat vibrates so bad that my wife can't ride it. Has anyone else have this problem.I spent over $600 for the bracket and my wife won't ride the bike because it is so uncomfortable. The place were I had it installed claimed that they talked with the Harley Factory and they stated that their was not an issue with the Bracket itself, no other complaints. I am ready to install the orginal bracket back on the bike,If I can't find a solution to the problem. I think where the U joint on both sides where it hooks to the bar,it is not tight. Any one else had this issue. Any help would be appreciated.

...what the hell kind of "bracket" costs over $600???...I made my 05 Electraglide Classic Tour Pak detachable for about $200. The only bracket needed was the one that goes under the Tour Pak. The rest of the hardware is the docking points. Can you be more clear about what you are talking about? And a "U-Joint" is something you find on a drive-shaft...not on a Harley...

Is the screw/bolt that holds the back of the seat down tight? Do you have the 2 or 4 point mounting kit on the bike for the "sissy bar" to attach to? If you do and the "sissy bar" is hooked on there correctly, it should not be making contact with your/her seat. If you have another set up, I can't help you.

Thanks Road Warrior I will check again. The Kind of Bracket that cost $600 is from the Harley Dealer for the 2011 it was the kit. The Dealer told me that for the 2011 the "kit" had changed. I know it is over priced but what can you expect from Harley? Where the U CONNECTION from the detachable bracket that connects to the tour bike connects to the Bike itself. Is that plain enough.

Same frames as the 09's on up, so the 09 and up mounting kits should be the same. We still are not clear on the U connection you speak of. Seems like you possibly have the mount that comes standard on the fixed tour pak model bikes and not the detachable rack like you are talking about. Pictures would sure help us help you.

My wife is expericing the same problem. What I've found is that the U connections that fits in the forward most docking points is not as tight a fit as the passenger backrest is and does allow movement. I have not yet found a way to resolve the problem but am working on it. I'll let you know how it works out once I've tested a few options.

Now I know what the OP is talking about then. The front connection points on the detachable rack. I have to check mine out and see if there's any movement there. Maybe for a quick fix wrap some black electrical tape around the chrome bushing and see if that helps make it a more solid fit.

Apparently this kit has already had a change up. The new # ends with a 09A. Talked to a parts guy about this and his impression is that they are a great improvemnt over the previous set ups???????? Tell that to your better half on the back.

The only thing they could have changed I believe would be the bushings that attach to the docking kit. Can anyone confirm a change to the bushings? I have these...........
http://my.att.net/p/s/community.dll?...eid=310473&ck=
on the rear bushing pins and the stock HD bushings on the front.
My wife today said there was a vibration back there but it was her first ride since last year so I really didn't pay her no mind.
