+1. I have a huge Cee Bailey shield on my Road King, and, yeah, I've gotten some comments on it.

But I've also found that while the cool guys are standing around talking about their cool bikes, I'm out riding mine!

When I point that out, that settles them down.

Can't you just remove the fairing and convert the bike to a shied-only/Road King set up?

Or is this so much of a hassle to not make it worth it?
The problem would be the gauges in the fairing.... You would have to get a new tank with tank mounted gauges for a start and this could prove a very costly exercise.

Iceman..... were you able to completely eliminate all of the "dirty" air from your FLHX with your set up? Or do you still get a little bit of buffeting?

Mattlal.... does this mean that you get no buffeting at all now?

Had the same problem with the stock shield. I got a 8.5" Klockwerks and it solved the buffeting problem. I could barely keep my sunglasses on before the switch. Now the only time I get any buffeting is with a strong crosswind (not much is gonna fix that) but not even close to as bad as before. I am 6' tall.

Good luck!

I had the buffeting turbulence problem as well and I was shoked how bad it was!

I started the cure by :

- a clock Werk 6,5 inches windshield = much much better, but not perfect

- a Tee triple fork ( ? ) deflector = nice piece of equipment, a small improvment.

- Chrome fork deflector = spectacular result !

The problem is solved, gone with the wind

ps: I will not recommend or endorse the black deflector, I have no idea how it performs !

Hi Joe,

I do hate the fork deflectors so I think I will never get rid of the buffeting.

Nevertheless thanks for your advice.
