Default Best aftermarket tires (2011 Road King)

Who has used aftermarket tires on their road king or other 09 or newer touring bikes? metzlers? Avon? Etc.? I know some aftermarket tires may not get the same tread life, but the better handling may be worth the trade off of less miles if the difference isn't drastic.

Dunlap Elite 3's,I've rode alot of tire's,and there are some good one's,but what set's these apart are they handle most all road situations well.My D402 that I had on my bike,on the rear were done at 15,000 miles, got 30 on the Dunlap elite, and if you ever rode over a grated surface such as a bridge, they don't grab a line in the grate, great tire>.

I put Mitchelins on my bike this time. What they say is true. They ride a lot better than Dunlop. Much smoother. Reason from what I am told is they side walls are softer so they take the shock of the road better. I was told to run full pressure in them and dont let them leak down because if you did let them leak down they are not as forgiving as Dunlop because of the soft sides. They could per wrench break their bead and cause you to wreck if you are lazy and dont keep up with your air pressure. Me, I always check my air so no problems for me in that deptment.

i'm really happy with my dunlop elite 3's. metzlers are good tires but tend to wear out considerably faster than the dunlop elite 3's, that's been my experience anyway, and the elite 3's handle and grip great along with lasting longer than anything else i've tried.

Getting ready to change out my stock OEM Dunlop 407/408s on my 2010 StreetGlide at 15K miles. Pretty happy with this mileage so I think I will have another set mounted.

Coolhawg, just what are you suggesting? 15K miles on a set of tires is pretty good considering what I read here on the forum with most getting less than 10K.
