i sold my 07 flhp. everything was perfect on the bike before selling except the battery was cranking slow. i didnt want any issues with the sale, so i ran out and got a new battery and popped it in. started right up great, but never test rode it. dealer gave me a battery for an 08, but said it was the same battery.

got a call from the buyer tonight and he said that the abs light stayed on the entire ride home. i of course said i would ask the forum whats up.

i read somewhere that the bike needs to relearn the battery (?) and it will go away after a couple of rides. another school of thought is that the new batt threw a code and once the dealer clears it - it will be OK. last idea is that the 08 civilian battery is different than the 07 police battery.

any help appreciated as i want to solve this and move on.

I don't think it has anything to do with changing batteries. I would check the ABS fuse, visually check that the ABS wires going to the calipers are intact and check for codes.
