Totally Agree...

I bought the RoadGlideŽ Speaker/32 watt Amp Kit with NEW 5"x 7" Speakers and the tweeter pod and I am not impressed w/it ... The speakers seem to be of good quality and sound pretty good, but the amp is clearly under powered. I think the setup was/is only a marginal improvement over stock; and a marginal improvement, IMO, is not worth spending the money on... I'm also a little miffed that I bought my setup just before they released the NCA 40.4 160 watt Amp. Industry people know when new products are being released, especially if they're being touted as better and more powerful. You think it would have been nice to mention that a better more powerful amp is coming out...perhaps...

I have Hawg Wired amp and love it, Arc are good as well

try a Fusion Marine Zone amp 100 watts about $100.00 very easy install works great with my 7.25 J&M speakers

 

I too am in the middle of upgrading my sounds system on my 2007 street glide, and many of us here are waiting for the new rockford fosgate pbr 300.4 to come out to make our decision. I already upgraded my speakers, but they need more power. After alot of research, Ive heard that biketronics, arc, and elf are the best choices. I kinda want to hold out for the new rf unit which comes out mid may-june.

If your present speakers aren't 2 ohms you will need to rationalise the speaker impedence against the amp output. I'm sorry that I can't explain this properly and if you don't know ask Hogtunes if their amp will work with speakers that are not 2 ohm.

Maybe someone here that knows of such things will add to this, or try the search function as there is a lot of info on sound systems here.

Hi bowa 18-- good pickup that I didn't notice and thanks for your correction. I thought the 20 year was across the board but now that you mention it I don't think any seller in his right mind would warrant an amp for 20 years.
Just shows how succeptible to 'image advertising' (or whatever it's called). Having done business with PEZ at Hogtunes I would be suprised if he didn't look at any issue with fairness in mind.

 

The Alpine PDX series is the BEST choice. However, as mentioned, it won't fit in the fairing.

Since you already have speakers in the hardbags, why not put the Alpine PDX there ??? It will bolt right up to the existing latch hardware.

Night and day difference between anything that will fit in the fairing.

That sounds like a horrible idea. Why would you mount 4 of them,.and will they fit ??

What model # are you looking at ?? Sure there's not a better option ???

I had the alpine pdx 4.150 and it is a great amp. The jl audio xd 4.100 will fit in the fairing and will knock your socks off. I am running 4 6by9s 4 6.5 and tweeters on it.In my opinion it is the best fairing amp by far that I have heard.

 

Old School,...........I found the XD400/4 on the JL site, and just wanted to post the dimensions for everyone. They are: 8.52 x 7.09 x 2.05 in.

What kind of bike do you have,.and...........is it a factory HD fairing ??
