ONLY if you can get 20% off list price - do a search here and you will find seveal posts on the topic - at least two HD dealers offering 20% savings...

Thanks to all for your input. I have an ESP for my current bike 07 RKC that I purchased when I bought the bike used from HD. Never had to use it. I thought it would be a waste of money for anew bike. I am pretty sure they give you an opportunity to buy it again after the factory warranty expires. Any thoughts on this idea?

If you buy it before the factory service plan expires. It will cost more if you wait!

Example...If you buy the 7 year ESP at time of delivery, cost 1494.00 or 1859.00 with optional tire/wheel coverage. which is actually 5 yrs extra.
If you wait until your 2 year factory warranty is about to expire. It's 1896.00 for 5 more years. 2186.00 with Tire/Wheel coverage. I'm sure that will differ a little with some Dealer's.

It's your money waste it however you want. Like go to the Casino. About the same odds of getting more than you put in.

I just bought a new bike and wondered whether I should get the extended warranty or not. Since you can buy it at any time till your original manufacturers warranty is up I thought I'd wait. If its a good bike and I haven't had any problems I doubt I'll get it, if not I probably will....of course if I've had a lot of problems with it I'll probably trade it anyway.

Just before the 2 yr factory warranty expired I bought the 5 yr ESP. In the past yr I've used up about 1500.00 of the 2100.00 I spent for the ESP. I still have 4 yrs left. At the end of the 4 yrs that are left my bike will be well over 100,000 mi. It's Las Vegas without the Casino. I joined this forum about the time of the RG purchase. After riding the bike for nearly 2yrs and reading threads on here it seemed to me purchasing the
esp would be in my best interest. I tour frequently and far from home. As mentioned in other posts the towing and motel expenses are paid for. For me it just made sense. You have time to ride and decide. I'd waited to see if I liked my bike well enough to ride it for at least 7 yrs before making the ESP purchase. Hope this helps.

I've had it on a crotch rocket & needed it. Yes, on my last HD & this 2011. I also have the Tire program. I got a discount off when I bought my bikes. IMO, It's worth it.

My 2009 had 3 days of warranty left when I bought it and I declined to get the ESP. I hope I don't regret it. I just had spent all I felt comfortable paying that day.

The ESP is a big money maker for the dealer and the MOCO. They are betting that you will never use it. You are buying it because you might need it. Just like the casinos, the odds are stacked in favor of the house... You might win occasionally, but over the long run, you lose.

The only extended warranty I've ever bought was for a digital camera for my 10 year old son. (I knew he'd break it, and he did).
