Default What can I expect from an stereo amp?

I have a 07 FLHX, with the stock HK stereo, I have upgraded my speakers to the J&M 7.25 and have the hog pod dash speakers. I would like to know if I get an amp installed what I can expect? If I have the volume set to 6 squares now and install a amp would the volume set at the same level make the volume set at 6 square sound like it is set at 7, 8, 9 or high squares? Sorry I am not a stereo guy and not sure if this makes sense. I am posting it here so anyone that has the same setup can respond.

If you install a amp it will improve the volume and clarity of your system. You want to look into different amps to make sure you get the best one for the speakers you purchased. If you have any questions our team would be happy to assist you.

I had an amp installed along with new speakers, I have to have the bass and treble all the way down or it distorts. The amp and speakers are hog tune, any ideas?

There are lots of amps out there. Lots of threads on Arc 125.2, J&M's 250W, Hawg-wired and others. If the amp has a gain control, the volume bars shown will depend on how the gain is set. This link explains this:

Your best bet is to contact PEZ at Hogtunes if you haven't already done so.
