Default IAT Sensor

The IAT sensor is throwing the P0113 code, which probably means replace it...was in a parade and everything heated up and possible the sensor is wasted.

The question I have is can this sensor be disconnected and the bike still run properly? I know it's function is to be a choke when it's a cold motor but I can probably compensate a bit with the Power Commander V...then when I get the $$$, I can replace the sensor.

I don't think it will hurt to run the bike with it unhooked but the idle will probably be off.

Default Low Idle

I'm thinking that I can compensate for the low idle with the power commander....just adjust the map I have then reload the original once I replace the sensor...

Did I mention I hate computers on motorcycles? Give me back my 113" S&S!!!!

The IAT sensor on my 98 RKC is bad. I've been running it like this for months with no problem. When the bike is cold I just idle it up a bit and lock the throttle until I'm ready to go.

You can try and replace it. I think they are around $20+/-. If that doesn't do it, check the wiring. The IAT wiring many times is short and pulled into place. My '05 didn't cure it by replacing the sensor, heard about the wiring problems, sure enough was stretched so tight, it had broken at the bend going into the connector. Took it off and soldered in about 2 inches of wire, problem solved.
