I am taking it that the ball mount you show mounts to the existing mirror hole on the clutch lever mount?
I got a short arm, 1" I think? If you'd like I'll measure it tomorrow. Yes, mounted though lever.

That would be great if you measured it. Your set up looks exactly like what I want. Thanks!

Great job and really good write-up! Thanks for sharing. I recently did an install on my flhx too, but i opted to install the opener behind one of the side covers and the push button on the frame (sorry no pics). My choice was based on simplicity and not having to remove the fairing etc. This forum is full of great info, thanks again!

I saw your green color in a dealer last week and it was incedible with the sun on it. I like that color a lot

Thanks! That was a difficult decision. Initially, I picked another black bike, but while I was sitting in the office making the deal, that green machine kept calling to me... the salesman realized I was somewhat interested so he pushed it out into the parking lot and sunlight - instant change of mind..haha.

Resurfacing this old post, hope you guys don't mind. I picked up a 71764-07 Momentary HD Switch, and going to wire it into my Garage Remote. I have one spot left open on the Console on my Bike, and I wanted something that looked factory. I'm just going to power it from the 9 V Battery that is in the Opener. Those batteries seem to last for years and years anyways. I'm a little "gun shy" with pulling the Ignition Cylinder, but I guess it's not bad if you don't move stuff around once you pull it.

My bike is in storage right now, but I plan on getting it out in a month or so and installing the switch.

Thanks alkrisma and HD Forums for all these GREAT Ideas

I have the 71764-07 Switch all wired into my Garage Remote. It's working great too. Since I only have one garage door to open, I took the 2 outside wires and wired them together, so the Garage will open if you push the lock or unlock button on the switch. I'm going to try and get my Bike out of storage this week, and install the switch.

I also want to install the HD Independent Control Auxiliary Lamp Wiring Harness 69200441 at the same time, while the Fairing is off.

Thanks

Default Pics of 71764-07 Switch

Thanks a bunch alkrisma.

Installed my 71764-07 switch with opener today, and it looks GREAT and works GREAT too.

It was a snap to install. I didn't even have to pop the Fairing off either The harness I needed for the Driving Lights on with the Hi Beams was right there once I got the switch console off.

Here are a few pics
