Default I want my Harley back.

I have a 99 Road King Classic that now has a large hole in the crankcase. Well several in fact. Now I need a new engine so am looking for one. Does anyone have any ideas on me getting an engine here in Australia or a wreck with the same motor. Is a MM 1450 and the fuel injection is different from most.

You need to have a rebuildable core to use the MoCo engine exchange program. They will not accept cracked or broken cases.

I'd see if an S&S case wouldn't work (about 1600 dollars here in the States). It'll have the Timken bearings that'll match your '99 crank. That--and everything else--ought to swap fine from your current engine. Replace what makes sense to replace, reuse everything else. You'll wind up with a new engine for (hopefully) around 3 grand USD. Research this to make sure I'm not blowing sunshine, but I think it's doable... Then again, I'm not sure what the premium is there in Oz for parts shipped from the US.

last time I checked I found cases were not near as expensive as I keep hearing they are. You do need to return your old cases tho.
