Default What to do to a new 2011 FLHTC?

I'm going to close on my new Vivid Black 2011 FLHTC. I want to take advantage of a 20% off of HD parts offer by the dealer. I'm thinking of pipes, having them install a detatchable tour pak and new hand grips. Can anyone give me some suggestions on what pipes (slip ons) that give a more deep HD sound? What else would be a good idea to have the dealer install?

Ask them whether they will install the Fuemoto power package for you. If they do, then no warranty is void, and you will be very happy.

New headpipe as it will not have a "cat" in the head, and new slip-ons, a stage 1 A/C and a tuner and a tune.
That should set you back around $2-2.5 K, and may include labor.
How's that sound now?
I would try and throw that in the deal as well.

You might consider riding bike awhile before deciding to install a detachable tour pak as it's expensive. I thought I wanted to do that but 2yrs later the TP is still on and I use the heck out of it. It's pretty simple & fast to the remove tour pak without detachable hardware all you need is some RK strut covers and license plate bracket. IMO I don't really like looks of detachable hardware with tour pak off.

I think the aftermarket companies have a better choice of exhaust systems.
You may want to use the discount for other things.

My dealer did the same for me when I bought my FLHTC and what I had them do was INSTALL A CRUISE CONTROL (!!!!!), tail lights in the Tour Pack (like the Ultra has) for visibility, a siren for the security system, and the Saf-T-Lights (or whatever they're called) that illuminates the turn signals when you hit your brakes. I also had them throw in the 1k service for free.

I did the a/c, Fuel Pak, big-baffled Rush mufflers thing after I bought it, but saw no performance improvement so I sold the Big Sucker & Fuel Pak (which never worked right), went with stock a/c, Xied's for fuel management, put 1.5" baffles in the Rush slipons, and added a Jagg 10-row oil cooler. Still happy as can be 4 years later.

Best of luck with the new bike!

As far as exhaust goes, I'm sold on Rinehart slip-ons, or true duals if you can afford them...great deep rumble and not oboxious.

check out our sponsor Fuel Moto. Change the header pipe, with some slip ons, stage 1A/C and a tuner

My #1 grab would be the adj riders backrest. Love mine for the long rides. Maybe some nice dash trim bling.
