My #1 grab would be the adj riders backrest. Love mine for the long rides...
+1
Rode my bike for the first 2 months without a backrest. Once I had one installed I realized it's as indispensable as cruise control for long trips, IMO.
I had a detachable Tour Pack on the last bike. The wife is with me most of the time and she likes the storage so the Tour Pack was on most of the time.
This time I didn't bother making the Pack detachable. I saved the money for other stuff.
I'm going to close on my new Vivid Black 2011 FLHTC. I want to take advantage of a 20% off of HD parts offer by the dealer. I'm thinking of pipes, having them install a detatchable tour pak and new hand grips. Can anyone give me some suggestions on what pipes (slip ons) that give a more deep HD sound? What else would be a good idea to have the dealer install?
Buy the black Limited next to it, you get the 103" engine, oil cooler, heated grips, titanium faced guages among other things..
New headpipe as it will not have a "cat" in the head, and new slip-ons, a stage 1 A/C and a tuner and a tune.
That should set you back around $2-2.5 K, and may include labor.
How's that sound now?
I would try and throw that in the deal as well.
+1 Those are nice expensive parts to get the 20% off on, You will probably end up doing that anyway if your like the rest of us. The chrome goodies latter on will be easier on the wallet a little at a time.
