Need some help on a 2006 Ultra
Looking at a set of heads from one of the members here on the site . The numbers on the heads are 16723-99 & 16725-99. They will fit the TC FROM 1999 50 2006. I am going to be doing a 95 upgrade and the heads have been ported and decked. They carb heads but want to know what trouble I will run into. Thought about picking up a set of SE heads but these heads have been done the right way.

the killer in the details are the low end cams that give you power at low rpm defeat the flow charcter of most changed flow heads, as the are called, heads that have been changed are usually done so to offer much high flow volumes at the higher rpms, not usually what the average bagger rider wants. instant power and getting that big gal out of the hole needs specfic builds starting with low end power, ie torque.

yea the andrews 48 had came out and I snapped a set up because I thought that the grind was perfect for my bagger. It leaves nothing for the top end which is ok because I like the instant response at the low end. I Added a little back pressure at the inlet of the CFR slip ons to enhance the low and mid range, that also cleaned up the constant poping on deacelaration. Just 3/4" wide by 1" tall in a section that is 2" in diameter. That did the trick, bike tuned easy on the dyno and runs great. By the way the CFR slip ons have no or very little back pressure, not enough to make my almost stock 88" twinkie run good. Rhineharts or Vance and Hines would have been easier but no one I know has these yet and they sound like a pumped up V-8.
