Had a friend do that to his 2010 SE Ultra, ruined the ride IMO.Mine rides and corners much better than his.

I have tried many different combos over the years and was most happy with the 412s @ 12". best shocks for the money. I went through two sets of 440s before trying these and was pleasantly surprised.

I did the 3 posistion lowering kit on my 98 Ultra. Went with the middle position, 2 inches?. It bottomed on a lot of bridges on the Interstate but looked damn good. When I traded for the 08, I just got used to the height. Now, with the 09, I think I'll try the kit again but at the first position, 1 inch to keep from bottoming.
With the 98 I dragged pipes and floor boards in the mountains but I dragged floor boards on the 08 also. Lean it far enough and it drags.

I just checked mine and it is stamped "low". How much lower is it than the earlier stock seats and I wonder if I will gain anything by getting the Mustang "low down" seat.

From what I have been told if you have the Low stock seat it will be hard to find anything lower. I spoke with Mustang about the Low down and also spoke with Chuck at C&C and they both said there will be very little difference if any in seat height compared to the stock Low seat. For this reason I haven't ordered a seat but I am looking into low profile shock options.

I have the same inseam and weight as you my 2010 limited is lowered and i also put the new HD super reduced reach seat on mine gives you 2 more inches, and i really like the seat ride also makes a huge difference in the reach i even have flex in my knees now and backing up is much easier.

My question about the low and reach seats, hows your butt after 800 miles one way and 800 back three days later.

The stock "low" seat was very comfortable for long rides, for me, but I did have shoulder/back pain from having to reach for the handlebars. Even with the super reduced seat I still cannot reach the bars comfortably enough for long rides. Can't justify the high cost of changing bars for now. After 1000+ miles, I am finally breaking-in the super reduced seat, or maybe my scrawny butt has gotten used to it.
