Yep. All of these lifts have a safety that you engage. Even if the pressure on the jack is lost, or bleeds down over time, the lift will stay up.

The Sears yellow jack has 4 incremental stops built into it.....jack the bike up past any of the stops and then let back down a little, will stay there forever.

I have a question for you fellas that have the Sears Craftsman Professional (yellow) jack. Once you position your jack/motorcycle where you want it, can you remove the jack handle and, if so, how easy is it to remove? I have limited space and the ability to remove the handle would be a big help to me. Thanks!

XTroop......Easy to remove the handle. The silver button where it runs inside the housing is just a spring lock. Pull the button, lift the handle out of the collar.

Any of the jacks work well and I have 2 (got them both at local parts house) but if you are going to work on your bike and have the room I would suggest the Handy air lift. I got one a couple of months ago and have not use the jacks since.

Using one from Harbor Frieght, it was 79.00 and some change delivered. Works great and don't need a second person to help out when placing bike on lift. Handle is removable and has 4 locking heights.

I have used the sears for years. (no pun intended). Several different brands and styles of bikes. Some needed to be strapped, some didn't. Never dropped a bike on the jack. Do all my maintainence on the jack and use it to turn bikes around in the garage.
