I had the same problem with my magnum chromite cable too. I had to loosen the bolts back up 1/4" or so on the trans cover to get the cable in the clutch lever. Then tighten the trans cover back up.

I thought it was just me but I have added new bars to both bikes, went with +6 cables and had to loosen the clutch cover to get threaded into the lever and holder. Latest was my Ultra with 577's and just fininshed it up last night. Had to go back and loosen cover in order to get about 1/4" more slack.

Mine was tight but I just pulled it harder and managed to get it on the lever and into the perch.

Do you still have enough play in your clutch that you are not worried about burning clutch up?

I only had to loosen it to get the cable and lever through the notch, after that I pulled cover back down, then only had to adj the cable adjuster about 1.5 turns
