Crashed my SG

Glad you two are ok. Tough being in a wreck I'm sure but so much worse having your wife on the back. Must have been pretty scared until ya found out she wasnt too banged up. Tough about the bike also. If it is an 02, sure they will total it with that amount of damage. Hope your treated fair by insurance.

Here's wishing you both a speedy recovery.
Just remember that when her insurance co. comes a knockin' that she was 100% at fault and that you are entitled to 100% compensation.
Make sure you get the current worth of the bike + 100% of any add-ons. You need to be made whole on the bike portion and expect payment that covers everything with depreciation only on the bike, not the add-ons.
They will try to give you next to nothing for the add-ons. Too bad for them. You bought them and should expect payment at the current off the shelf price from your local dealer or the price shown on your reciepts. They will argue this but hold your ground.
When up to it get ALL of your receipts together and try to find out what a similar used bike would cost off the floor from a dealer. Not some low ball Craigslist price.
Even though it sounds like you will be going with a newer model you need and deserve to get every penny out of your now destroyed bike.
Compensation for medical bills, pain and suffering is a separate issue and will most likely be approached once the bike payment issue is resolved.
Good luck to you and your bride.
P.S. I'm not a lawyer but while I play one on TV I actually went thru this whole process back in late 2005.
