Default ECU is Dead

Here is my situation. I purchased Revolution Performance's EMS from Frank at Drago's Bike Works. I get a call from RP today that they cannot program my ECM and there is something wrong with it; they have never seen anything like what they are experiencing with this ECU. So now I have two choices to either purchase a used ECU and have them flash it or look at Thundermax since my ECU is a gone.

So I guess I'm at odds on what to do with my bike. Aargg. BTW, Frank has been wonderful to talk with and given advice on both systems. Also, RP have been stand-up and talked with me very specific on the phone about the problem and pretty much feel that when I try to put the ECU on the the bike that it won't even work.

Sorry to hear that, sounds like something that would happen to me. Was the ECM working right when you took it off the bike?

It was working just fine, said there was an algorithm problem and couldn't be programmed.

I have been waiting to see a story like this and wondered what RP would do.

ECM taken out of a working bike and suddenly it is no good.

Sorry for your pain but what is to say that RP didn't zap it and now want you to pay for it?

Get the ECM back and take it to a dealer and get them to write the stock flash back to the ECM.
Might cost you a few dollars but if the bike works then get a refund on the RP gear and buy a TTS

I don't see how that is your problem. Its in their possession, how is this fair/moral.... If it worked before with no problems and then all the sudden its "dead" .......Uhhhhh I think someone owes you a new ECU.

An algorithm? Sounds like they're using big words yet being very vague. How much is a new ECM?

What if it has an algorithm? I wouldn't be very happy with rev perf until it was fixed if it was working properly when you sent it to them.

Well I emailed RP and told them to send the ECM back to me and I will take to the dealer to see if it can be totally wiped out. I'm as confused as everyone else as to this situation. I started out with my first tuner of Direct Link and later purchased TTS Mastertune. I liked the information that I was reading with regards to the RP EMS and didn't want to mess with the bike anymore and since I did a 107 build I wanted it set and not mess with it again. Seems I have bigger problems on my hands.
