Default '09-later stock header pipes not too bad...

Decided to replace my stock header pipes on my '09 Street Glide with V&H true duals. I thought the linguini shaped crossover was a power liability while the V&H cross over is full diameter.

Well, the dyno sheet don't lie. I was making 86hp/105lb/ft before the V&H headers and exact same numbers after. (less than 1 hp/ ft/lb difference)

I do like the true dual sound much better though. (They exit through V&H monster ovals) A lot more volume coming out the left pipe now. I understand the V&H Power dual header pipe prolly makes more power but I don't like the looks.

The moral of the story is, unless you really are looking for the sound of true duals, don't bother. You likely won't gain and hp with them.

I had power duals a year ago. The hp and tq was within 2-3. Wasn't worth the extra cost over the 09 stock headpipe. That money could be better sunk into a cam swap IMO....
