Powdercoating tins
Did a sexrch didnt see anything.
Anyone ever try to powdercoat the tins?
My 09 denim black is already skuffed to hell. If you ride and park outside and move around in the garage there is bound to be contact with something sooner or later.
I would like to powdercoat the tins a satin or flat black and paint the fairing to match.
Any idea if powdercoating would yield better results than repainting and how would the cost compare to a repaint?

Durable as hell and a lot cheaper than painting but can't say I know of anyone who has done it? You'd have to paint the side covers as they are plastic and would melt in the oven. That said, I have seen a couple of bikes that were painted (sprayed?) with Rhino/Line-X type bedliner industrial spray. Looked kind of cool and extremely durable. Just can't imagine a 2 year old Harley getting Rhino sprayed though???

i powder coat where i work at. if u want to powder the tins it WILL work but u must get all the fumes out of the tank or it will go BOOM in the oven and like was already said the plastic parts must be painted. i did a buddy of mines tank and fenders for his shovelhead and they turned out SWEET and durable as hell. i say go for it man!!

I want to do the same thing. Had to talk to a few local shops to find one that would do tins.
BTW, here's Joe's bike 100% powder 0% paint. Hope mine turns out like this.
