Did you order Stouts for a 2011 model? If so that is why they are so loud. The 2010 and 2011 bikes come from the factory with a catalytic converter. The converter does a lot of sound dampening by itself. When you change the head pipes on these bikes to a straight through head pipe you have to order a muffler for a bike pre-converter to keep the sound level down. If you ordered Stouts for a 2009 model, it would have more sound dampening and just slightly louder than stock. If you consult with supertrapp on their online help, this is what they will tell you.

Try the Klock Werks Super Saver Slip ons. Super Saver is a bad name for these as the mufflers are as well made as any I have ever had or seen. You can get them from Eastern Performance for under $300.

These are not very load except when you crack the throttle.
