ElectraGlide has a little green security light on the speedo that stays on if it doesn't see the FOB. When a batter gets weak, then the FOB doesn't work sometimes.. so intermittent is typical of a weak FOB.

Duracell 2032 battery, you can get them anyplace.

I had the same problem. It was the FOB battery.

My securty system starting acting up yesterday being a little slow before it would let system turn bike on (lights flashing etc). My FOB battery's are both original (2008) so I bet it's time to change them out. I hope I can get home from work ok since I rode in today. It did this morning before I left the house..... keep your fingers crossed.

i find it absolutely mind boggling the number of people who live in fear of being stranded in bfe due to a dead fob battery. people, you don't have to live in fear, you are master of your fob!

you learned how to operate your hk advanced audio didn't you? you should learn how to operate your security system too. learn how to set a code, practice using the code until you can do it without looking at the card, then refresh every month or so. do this, and you won't have to worry about being stranded (at least because of your fob)
