where are you seeing an orange cvo streetglide?i have been to 6 different dealers about a dozen times each, wanting to look at one..every one says they had 1 or 2 but they were gone with in a day..i have wanted to see one since they came out.. starting to think everyone is just teasing me about there existence.. maybe i can find and afford one when its 20 years old and beat down..i think the paint would effect the value quite a bit..they are limited and desired..not like the horrible looking anniversary bikes they made thousands of..who cares if someone else has the same color..i have seen dozens of bikes that look like mine before i customized it..

He can't find another way to make it unique? Maybe the one he sells it to doesn't like the stock paint & would like his design better. Does he really want an extra set of tins hanging around or does he intend on selling it? He needs to do what ever makes him happy & don't worry about what the dealer says. Good luck

I wouldn't screw with the stock paint set.
Cost of swapping the new tins and custom paint set will be north of $5k for anyone this particular and most likely crush the resale value of a CVO.
I would consider changing the seat, wheels, windshield and bars to set his apart from his twins and keep all my take off parts. Maybe black out the front end and exhaust too boot.
This scenario is exactly why I did not buy a CVO this go 'round and more fun to beat 'em in the local "Bike Shows" with less $$$ invested and I'm riding my custom bike not one of Harley's overdone over produced cake decorated creations.
Hope your friend doesn't drink Bud Light, wear Wiley X glasses, a balck leather jacket, black harley shirt or blue jeans or else his bike won't be the only cloned item in his world to consume his anxieties....just saying.
