I would grab that up fast and ride the hell out of it. That is not high miles and that is a great price.

I own a 99 Road King, with 6000 miles on the clock, just had Heads flowed, manifold flowed, Andrews cams and 1550 big bore and my God it flies! There were ball races in the cams but all Timkin needles now, Its a carb model and I love it!
Buy the 1450 and you will do the same!

That's a great price on a 99 RK, don't worry about the naysayers, I had a 99 RKC & put 76K on it without a single problem. Even if the cam tensioners haven't been changed it's a good deal, as far as miles it's just like being rebuilt when it had the big bore installed. Find out if the tensioners have been upgraded or at least replaced or have somebody check them for you, it's always good to have a tech check it out if you're not familiar with HDs, but you should be able to ride that bike for a few years & still get most of your money back out of it,

My last bike was a TC88 '99 Roadking Classic. (I think their's pics in my garage).
Broke down only once, a flat rear tire on those damn wire wheels. Put a lot miles on that bike. I think $6500 is a real good price.

I have a 2000 Road King with just shy of 80k-with the Magnetti Marelli fuel injection....the early twin cam engines are very good motors, however some developed pre-mature wear on the cam chain tensioner shoes, and they needed to be replaced...this is not a big deal! I replaced mine @ 40k (they were well worn)....but other than that the early twin cams are as good as any engine HD has built. The tensioner shoes can be done at a shop for less than $500 parts and labor and less than $100 if you can do them yourself. That bike sounds like it is worth every penny of the $6200 asking price.

Do it. For that price, even if you had to throw a couple hundred into it, you'll have a fine bike that will last you forever.

...gee..$13,000 LESS than a new one?...ahh...ya..I'd take that deal in a heartbeat...especially since it has a big-bore upgrade! And I can almost GUARANTEE that whoever did the big-bore, would have had the cam bearing done, maybe even put a new cam in it too....don't let that cam issue scare you...less than 5% OF 99'S ever displayed any symptoms of that issue......go for it!...

...and another thing about "newer" bikes...ya, newer anything always has a nice feel to it, but ask yourself this...your on a big-bore Road King rolling down a 2 lane country road at 60mph, sun shining, 75 degrees, the deep throaty rumble of your finely tuned 95 inch humming across the farm fields as you glide by, right beside you is your buddy on a 2010 Road King...is HE having a "better" ride than you at that moment? HELL NO...you are both having the exact same awesome run...there IS no "better" Harley, than any other Harley...I would be insanely jealous if the guy next to me on that run was ridin a 58 Pan Hardtail...so newer isn't always "better"...heck, everytime I hear a pre EVO big-twin idle, I wish for an OLDER bike...but I'm a dying breed guess..

I don't care for bikes that had motor work done. That being said, if your in the $6000 range, your not going to get much in a big twin. My wife just sold her 03 XL1200 for $5500. If it looks good, runs good, shouldn't get hurt to bad if something crops up.
