My rule is quite simply: How many smiles per miles will this add-on give me? Easy answer for me on this question. Go with the motor kit, and grab a fist full of throttle! You'll be glad you did.

Default 95 Inches

I had a 2002 softtail with a 95 in kit. It was a great bike. Pulled hard & got good gas mileage.

The Rush mufflers are good, you can get free wraps for the mufflers by calling or email.

It has some chrome a stage 1 and some rush slip ons that came on the bike.

Here is my my question. I have about 1800.00 and the two options I have are:

  1. I would love to throw some true duals of some sort on there ( I wont ask which ones are best) I will probably go with rineharts or V &H. these are about a 1000.00 Sert 400.00 installation and dyno 400.
  2. Screaming Eagle stage 2 (95 kit) 1800.00 installed and leave the same exhaust.
I wish I had 3500.00. any direction or suggestiion?

Check with FuelMoto and see if they have a 98" kit... That's the path I'd be on

95 " 10:1 Pistons Adjustable Pushrods and an Andrews cam. SERT Tuned by a great team at Manns HD in Indiana.

I would go with option 2. Your bike is pretty new and that exhaust will last a long time, enough for you to reach a similar decision point in a year or two!

As for true duals killing torque, we had a debate on that here some while ago. When I installed my S&S 107 I asked the Company about TDs and they told me they are a recommended set-up for that motor. I get more torque than they claim the motor will give, so no loss there! That is not to suggest a different exhaust will not be even better, but I think the jury is out on that subject!

Good choice!

btw, true duals (full length duals out the back of the bike) on a dresser provide better torque normally. They hurt your top end horsepower numbers a little but with the 10:1 95" and mid sized cams, any non-restrictive exhaust will be fine.

If you have an '06, you've got EPA cams with no overlap. Take a grand of that $1800 and invest first in a set of Andrews 21 gear drives, and eliminate the cam chain tensioners. You will be amazed at the difference in performance, especially on the low and mid range, where you do most of your riding.

Here's a great article on hopping up your TC88. The cam referred to is the Andrews 21.
