Anyone have a clear bra?
#11
I have this on my bike. (Just installed it a few weeks ago), My buddy has had it for a few years and loves it, they are lifetime warrantied so if you scratch or scuff it they will send you a new one.
I have them on my saddlebags and where the tank meets the seat and if you know they are there you can see them but if you don't its hard to notice them.

I have it on my saddlebag tops and it has paid off. It got scratched real bad and I just peeled it off and no damage underneath. (Come to think of it I need to replace it.) On saddlebag tops it is less noticeable because it follows the edge of the tops. On a faring I think it would be too noticeable for my liking.
After 20k miles I have one tiny fairing blemish that the film would of prevented but I think the looks of the film on the fairing would bother me more.
On the other hand I have it on my cage and it is noticeable but I don't really care - its only a car.

It all depends on the brand of the film and the ability of the person installing it. Dresser fairings are done in 3 pieces if they're a pre-cut and it looks like hell. I do them with a single bulk piece of film and you can't even tell it's there. If you don't know how to take it off, it might mess up your paint. The product is great just make sure you have a certified installer put it on. A full front end to a dresser shouldn't cost you more than $300-400 depending on where you live.

I have it on my bags (front & top) and on the front fender. The stuff has saved the tops of the bags from many boot marks.
I recently took a big rock to the fender that scuffed the film. The paint was fine underneath though.
The stuff isn't cheap and it doesn't look quite as good paint, but I think the tradeoff is worth it.

And no it has nothing to do with actual breasts.
Thinking I would like to get the front end covered with a clear bra. My dad had one on his Audi a few years ago and after a couple years you could see where it started and stopped pretty clearly. Also afraid it may do something to the paint when taking it off after a few years. Would like to hear your experiences.
Thanks,
Erik
edit: actually looked and found info on here. But anyone know the price of having this done?

My dad and I both installed a clear bras on our Road Glides in 2007. He recently traded in his and after 76k miles his clear bra was looking pretty rough. After removing the clear bra it left a lot of adhesive but it was removed somewhat easy with adhesive remover. After all the adhesive was removed I wet sanded and rebuffed the paint out. The paint looks like brand new. I would totally recommend doing this to anyone.

Avery nano fusion looks better than the factory paint from what i hear. It's relatively new and I want to see how it lasts in the real world before I order a roll of it. And Rick, if you wanted to get a few of the vermont bikes together we could come out and do a few bikes over the course of a day or two. All we need is a clean work area and 70+ temperatures. Most guys with harleys at least have that.
