Default Cat Converters on 2010 and Newer a Myth?

I know I am going to stir up controversy....but was at a dealer, and they had 2 new 2011 touring bikes that were getting new header pipes. When talking with the tech, I said oh going to switch out pipes to get rid of Cat...he said what...no cats here, showed me both header pipes, nothing in them! Wonder why some have them, some don't...he said only Cal. bikes... I have seen photos of other headers cut open, and people digging the stuff out...wonder what that is about...

My 2011 Ultra Limited had one that I replaces today and its not a CA bike either. And the heat that thing causes is terrible, and it completely discolored my right side Rush Slip on muffler too.

Have to know what you are looking for. Some aren't aware it is in the collector while others do not know one year bike from another. Did you check the vins? Did you actually see in the collector with a flashlight? Got pics? Did the exhaust have 12mm or 18mm O2 sensors? where were the O2 sensors- close to the jugs or at the exhaust collector?

Doesn't make me wonder.

2010 and 2011 Domestic models have cats.

Some other model year bikes have cats depending on market.

( you can locate the cat by tapping on the header with a pen)

I saw the cat in mine (and got rid of it - and it's freaking awesome without it).
