I have a friend who is looking to rent a HD Glide on Long Island NY for Americade in June.
Right now I have seen some rates of $180 per day or they have a 3 day rate which makes it about $458 .
Are these the going rates ? OR what are they ? This is a first time on doing a rental?

Well... since he likely needs to rent one on LI, it probably won't matter what the rates are elsewhere in the country, no?

 

I don't really know ? Wouldn't they be almost the same all over? I really do not know?
I do know that EAGLERIDER Rentals has Offices all over the US and prices are the same in all cities.

 

The year I bought my RKC I was looking into renting a bike for 3 days to go on a trip. It was going to be in the $500.00 range. I decided to take the $500.00, add another $2000.00 to it and used it for a down a payment. That was 2007 in Salt Lake City. The rate seems normal to me.

 

My point wasn't to question whether they are the same everywhere, but rather to say that it doesn't really matter. He isn't likely going to rent one in Colorado if the rates are cheaper there, right? ;-)

 

Yes. He is, in a geographical sense, forced to rent a bike in LI therefore stuck paying LI prices. My point was just to say that 458 is probably normal.

Dealers will charge what they think they can get. In Baton Rouge rates are $75/day and at another dealer in the north part of the state it's $100/day.

think in Louisville its about $175 a day so sounds pretty normal
