Default Need CB Help

I recently bought a used 2006 Ultra Classic 2500 miles. Thought I would add the CB module for sh*ts and giggles as the radio said "Com option not installed see dealer". However I pulled the front fairing only to discover the module is already there and wired in. I have read in past forums it needs to be flashed, others say no just hook it up. I updated the firmware to the latest and that didn't help, pulled the master fuse and waited 15 min plus and no help. I am not the type who likes to run to the dealer, any ideas??

Just to add, the original owner said it has never been online. Why would harley put the module on and it not work?

Ran the firmware update again still nothing. Any ideas? How does the dealer do this magical flash, from the CD or back of the radio? Thanks,

I had an 06 Ultra. The CB is standard equip. I did have the HK radio flashed a couple of times the first year to add upgrades. Dealer just inserted a CD for the upgrade.

If the bike is an ultra classic it came with the CB radio from the factory. My bike is a 2009 and when I added XM all I did was plug it in and it worked. If you have all the connectors right, I think they will only go one way, then it should work. I think I would take the HD number from the head unit to my dealer and make sure the radio is for the UC. Maybe it has been changed. I believe the number is 76160-06 for the UC. My guess is the CB module is bad or the unit has been changed.

Its an Ultra Classic all the way. The guy barely rode it let alone bothered with changing anything. I am afraid it may have been bad from day one and the guy never bothered to have it checked out. Bwana, did your's come all ready flashed and working?

Just take it to your dealer and they can flash the unit (mine didn't even charge me to do so) to activate the comm portion or they will be able to tell you that the cb module is bad.
