2000 RPM Decel Chatter...Clatter...WTH???
I've got a 2008 EGC and I've got a fairly "loud" chatter...clatter..whatever you want to call it...that starts at about 2000 RPM and continues down to about 1700, but only on deceleration in gear. It's almost as if the engine reaches a harmonic vibration point and then once it gets through that range, it stops.
It's there at as well with the clutch in using a bit of throttle, but it's more prounounced when slowing. This is the first season I really noticed it but it just seems "louder" than ever. It doesn't keep me from riding it and I just want to be sure that it's not damaging or hurting anything in the engine/tranny.
BTW...I've got a stage 1 with PCV (FuelMoto map) that I put on this winter and it just started this season..coincidence? Redline in the trans, SYN3 in the engine and HD+ in the primary. What is causing this???? Any ideas? I'd think it was "normal" if it had done this from the start, but I don't remember it being this noticable before. Could it be the PCV Map? Do I have a problem?

It's very slight if I maintain 2000 with the clutch in using a bit of throttle, but it's very prounounced when slowing. Thanks Mike..that was my first thought. I've got the 10k service in a couple weeks. I usually do all my own fluids but I may leave the primary for them... but the stealer will probably give me the "it's normal" or blame it on the PCV ...we'll see. I wanted to see if anyone else had something similar and what was done to fix it.

I have a similar problem on my 06 ultra. My noise sounds like a sewing machine when i decel after an extended 80mph + stretch of road. I can tell its high in the engine and i think its the front cyl. My dealer cant seem to duplicate the problem and said just ride it! WTH!

Yep...just like a loud sewing machine. Mine gets louder as the engine temp climbs...I really can't tell whether it's coming from the top or primary area but it's always there...just started this season. Wasn't there the last two summers. Could be related to the stage 1 I put on this winter...gotta figure it out.
