Default Help Needed...slow gas gauge

Hey all:

So here is the issue. I have an '07 ultra which is, and has been, a great bike. About 19,000 miles on it.

The gas gauge has recently become "slow". It stays at full too long and it seems to be "freer" moving going toward full. However, when I turn off the bike the gauge is very slow to to to empty position also.

I need some opinions on whether the sender may be sticky or the gauge itself is going bad.

Also, refresh my memory, when we turn off our bikes does the gauge take a long time to go back to empty or does it happen immediately. I actually never paid it much attention.

Thanks in advance for your opinions and thoughts.

Ride Safe

Mine's done that from the start. I think it's normal.

I don't put much faith in the gauge. I go by the odometer.

I'm learning quickly that the gas Gage on my new to me 06 is not worth much. It stays on full for a long time, then drops rapidly To a half and then very quickly to empty.

I was happy to have a gauge, but I'm learning that it's not very accurate.

Skulmn! I think that is normal. I have an 07 Ultra also. The fuel gauge on it started freaking out. Jumping around like a rabbit on crank. I put a spare gauge on. It reacts slowly but is better than the other one. I go by the odometer more than the gauge anyway.

The gas gauge is just a bit better than the temp gauge. Just use it as a guide, but never rely on it. The ODO is your best friend.

You are not alone, I can get 100 miles on mine before I show 1/2 tank and can only get 60 miles on the second half. I just rely on the odometer.
